Whether you’re an existing company that has grown too big for your current location or you are an organization who wishes to locate in Cumberland County, CCED has the resources, experience, and relationships available to help you succeed.  Our site-selection process is more than simply finding a location for our clients, it’s about crafting a comprehensive development package that gives clients multiple options and establishes a relationship that lasts long after the project is complete.  Our expert team will work together to build a comprehensive incentive package based on the following six core areas:

1. A Comprehensive Search of Available Land and Buildings

CCED works with over 100 commercial realtors and brokers to conduct the most comprehensive search possible, which allows our clients to remain anonymous until they are ready to visit a site.  This process guarantees our clients receive more information than working with any single agent or group.  Once a location is selected we help clients connect with developers, engineers, and other groups familiar with the area to help move projects forward.

2. Internal Financing Programs

As a state accredited economic development agency, we have access to a large number of financing programs designed to meet a variety of project needs.  In addition, we have created a number of in-house funding programs that address unique industry needs.  This ensures our clients can choose the best programs from a large number of quality options.

3. State Incentives

To attract and retain companies we work closely with the Governor’s Action Team (GAT) to obtain project incentives.  We will organize meetings with the GAT so our clients can receive a formal state incentive package that may include loans, grants, tax breaks, and other funding.  This process will help our clients build a bond with the state as well as generate valuable press when the time is right.

4. Guidance to Agencies, Departments, and Officials

Sometimes the hardest part of a project is knowing where to go and with whom to speak.  We guide our clients to, and set appointments with, the correct political, municipal, or agency representative.  This process allows CCED to work with officials in order to get our client’s questions answered and needs met in a timely fashion.  These meetings also allow officials to give the necessary guidance, recommendations, and support to move projects along.

5. Renewable Energy Savings and System Upgrades

Companies today are concerned about saving money through energy conservation.  CCED will recommend a series of energy saving options to help clients keep costs down.  These options involve where to go to negotiate better utility rates; join electricity buying pools; and recommendations for funding programs for the installation, replacement, or retrofit of inefficient systems with alternative and renewable energy technology.

6. Workforce Development & Recruitment

Attracting, hiring, and training a quality workforce can be a difficult and time consuming process.  CCED can simplify this process by putting clients in touch with area resources that will help them attract qualified workers.  Free job postings, advertising, and use of facilities for recruitment drives at no cost are just some of the services available.
